Colours of Differdange
Encouraging a wide variety of activities, The Colours of Differdange make the Place des Alliés a vibrant, colourful space that reflects the character of this wonderful place. The design spells out the name of the city, each letter being a individual part of a whole. Here you can sit (D, I) and reflect, be creative or spend some time playing games with your kids (F,E,G). Maybe go from letter to letter and enjoy them all. The choice is yours, engage with the different installations as you wish. While the letters do spell out DIFFERDANGE there is no particular sequence to take part in the installation, although if you wish to do so you can follow our yellow trail. All the letters are made in different colours and give a playful look to the otherwise rather grey space. Providing something for all, young and old, there is a place for everyone. Maybe you sit down in one of our quiet places and read a book (E). Come here with your bike, there is plenty of space to leave it here in a safe spot (R). Make sure you enjoy yourself and your city. Contribute to your town by planting some flowers and herbs or by drawing on the public art board (A). Differdange has one more wonderful place to offer, bright and alive, inhabit it and make it yours! You can take a picture with each letter and make it a memorable experience of your visit to Differdange!

Plan-Spiel-Theorie als Einheit – sehr gut gelöst.
Thank you very much for taking the time to view our project. We are glad that you like our design and for your appreciation of our design theory!
Très bonne idée, c’est créatif et funtionelle.
Really glad you like the project!
Very colourful and such a nice way of playing with the letters! which materials are you planning to use?
Glad you like the colours! This was a big part of our process to make something playful and not just another structure, helping to breath life into the rather grey public square. As for materials we were thinking of a timber construction. It’s a good material to use for onsite projects that is stable enough as far as safety goes but light enough to move if the need arises. It’s also a renewable source and is easy to paint on without using strong chemical paints (like when using metal).
Super cooles Projekt!
