Marina Jacob is a German artist based in Frankfurt am Main. Her practice includes sculpture and large format drawing, sometimes with performative elements. Marina tests the potential of material imagination as a hybrid space and a catalyst. The Artist uses reversible materials such as tin, wax and glass splitters.
Her works are informed by philosophical, sociological theories in the scope of human-animal studies and by experimentation with ethnic crafts.
The artist studied Fine art at Chelsea College of Arts, UAL, London and holds an MA degree with distinction from Kingston University, Kinston School of Art, London. In 2020 she received a project grant from the Hessische Kulturstiftung for the project Flower Coordinates and established an artist initiative ArtistsAndOtherAnimals.

DIFFMIX is a project co-financed by the Esch2022 European Capital of Culture and the City of Differdange with the creation of artistic interventions in the public space transforming them to community spaces with the participation of the residents. “Diff” is for “difference” and for “diffussion” of space, art and people and “Mix” is for the mixture of the needs of the inhabitants with the possibilities of art creations.
